When I started Fancy Pet Salon, it was just me, one dog at a time, in a quiet room in Lynchburg. That hasn't changed. But what's coming next is something I've been dreaming about for a long time.
Over the next four to six months, three big things are happening. I want you to hear about them from me first.
We're opening a second Fancy Pet Salon location in downtown Lynchburg, just two minutes off the expressway. More availability, easier access, and the same cage-free, one-dog-at-a-time experience you already know.
This has been in the works for a while. As the waitlist grew and I started turning away more dogs than I could accept, I knew it was time. A second location means we can serve more families across Lynchburg, Forest, Bedford, and Madison Heights without sacrificing the quality or attention that makes Fancy Pet different.
More details on the exact address and opening date are coming soon. I'll share everything here first.
For the first time ever, I'm bringing someone else onto the Fancy Pet team.
Her name is Carolina, and she's been carefully selected and trained in everything that makes this salon what it is: patience, cage-free handling, low-stress techniques, and genuine love for every dog that walks through the door.
I know how much trust you put in me when you hand over your dog. I wouldn't bring someone in unless I was confident they'd treat your pup exactly the way I do. Carolina shares that philosophy. She takes her time. She reads the dog. She never rushes.
Carolina will be grooming at the new downtown location, which means more appointment slots and shorter wait times for everyone.
This is the part I'm most excited about.
I'll continue grooming at the original salon on designated days reserved exclusively for high-anxiety dogs. These are the dogs who need absolute quiet. No other dogs in the building. No distractions. Just me and them, one-on-one, with all the time and patience they need.
Some dogs need more than just a good groomer. They need a controlled environment. No sounds from other dogs. No unfamiliar energy in the room. On anxiety days, the entire salon is reserved for one dog at a time with extended session windows, extra breaks, and a pace set entirely by the dog.
If your dog has been turned away from other groomers, has a history of trauma, or simply shuts down in busy environments, these days are made for them.
If you're already a Fancy Pet client, here's what you need to know:
If you've been on the waitlist or couldn't get an appointment, this is your chance. Two locations and two groomers means we can finally welcome more dogs into the Fancy Pet family.
If your dog is anxious, reactive, or has had bad experiences with grooming before, ask about our dedicated anxiety days. That's where we do our best work.
I'll be sharing updates as the downtown location comes together. Follow us on Facebook or check back here on the blog for the latest.
Thank you for trusting us with your dogs. This growth is because of you, and everything we do next will keep earning that trust.
See you soon.
