About the Chihuahua Coat
Chihuahuas come in two coat types, and they groom a little differently. Smooth-coat Chihuahuas have a short, glossy coat that needs very little brushing. Long-coat Chihuahuas carry soft feathering behind the ears, on the legs, and along the tail, and that longer hair can tangle if it is not brushed a few times a week. Either way, this is a low-maintenance breed where the real work is nails, ears, and teeth more than the coat.
