I open early enough to accommodate court-schedule clients. Drop off on your way down 501, take care of business in Rustburg, then pick up on your way home. Plenty of clients drive 501 through Rustburg from Brookneal or south Campbell County. Campbell County 4-H has an active dog program, and the county fair brings out the show dogs every summer. Rustburg is heavily wooded — pines, oaks, brush all up against the yards. Deer ticks are a real Lyme-disease concern out here, especially spring through fall. During every bath I work through the coat looking for ticks before they latch or after they've embedded. Found one removes safer in soapy water than dry — they let go cleaner. I check ears, between toes, under the collar, and along the belly.
